Family and Child Services
NeuroBehavioral Associates provides assessment and intervention of cognitive, developmental, psychiatric and behavioral disorders for children ages 5 and older.
We examine how the child best learns, what accommodations they may need for school and in day to day life, and what medications or treatment might help them.
The neuropsychological assessment looks at functional cognitive areas, as they relate to the anatomy of the brain. These cognitive areas include attention, processing speed, reading, writing, math, spelling, language, spatial skills, motor skills, and memory.
We provide feedback to parents to give them practical strategies to help their child's school performance and behavior at home. We also work with schools, giving them to implement IEP and 504 plans.
Treatment is individualized for each child and family and may include: medication management, individual psychotherapy, speech language therapy, and neurorehabilitation (practicing cognitive skills, developing and implementing compensatory cognitive mechanisms).
We address emotional factors such as depression, anxiety, social problems, and behavioral control issues.
We also handle substance use disorders.
For families, we offer individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, and groups therapy.
